County Commissioners Continue To Review 2025 Budget

Presiding Commissioner Steve Daleske called the meeting of the Benton County Commission to order at 9:00 AM on December 30 in the Board Room of the Benton County Courthouse. Those present included Daleske, District 1 Commissioner Larry Berry and District 2 Commissioner Scott Harms. Visitor David Malecki was also present.

The Commissioners continued preparation of the 2025 budget, reviewing revenues and expenditures as submitted by officials and department heads.

Prosecuting Attorney Rod Richardson met with the Commissioners to review his 2025 budget requests.

County Clerk Susan Porterfield presented information for the final budget amendment for 2024, this budget amendment was necessary due to unforeseen revenues and expenses. Commissioner Harms made the motion to approve the budget amendment as submitted. Commissioner Berry seconded the motion. The motion passed.

The Commissioners discussed the current fund balance of General Revenue and the projected expenditures that will be necessary for maintenance and upkeep of county facilities in the near future. Commissioner Harms made the motion to transfer $1,000,000 from General Revenue to General Investments, as a way of earmarking money for necessary improvements. Commissioner Berry seconded the motion. The motion passed.

County Treasurer Rick Renno presented his weekly financial report and County Clerk Porterfield submitted bills for approval and payment.

The Commissioners met with County Assessor Jim Hansen to review his 2025 budget requests.
