Mary Elnora (Breshears) Alexander, age 85, of Warsaw, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at her home. She was born on March 9, 1940, in Warsaw, Missouri, the daughter of Elvin Breshears and Mary Jackson Breshears.
Elnora grew up in Warsaw and graduated from Warsaw High School. On May 29, 1959, she was united in marriage to James “Tommy” Alexander, and together they made their home in Warsaw. Elnora lovingly raised her family, supporting her children through their school years. Later, she worked for Head Start, the R9 School District, and Unitog. In addition, she served lunch for many years at the Benton County Pork Producers Sale Barn.
Elnora was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church and had a beautiful, loving heart. She cherished having a full house and especially loved making Sunday breakfasts with biscuits and gravy, eggs, and hash browns. She once said there were no "steps" in her family—she claimed everyone as her own.
Elnora and Tommy were avid square dancers, dancing nearly every weekend. They were proud to have performed at Heritage Days for fifteen years. The couple also enjoyed camping and once drove a team on a wagon train. Elnora loved watching Westerns, especially those starring John Wayne. She could practically recite all his movies and often identified them by their opening songs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of fifty-two years, and three brothers,Charles Breshears, Dale Breshears and Raymond “Boots” Breshears.
Elnora is survived by three children: Deborah Troxell (Frank), Jim Alexander (Tammy) and Andy Alexander (Tamatha), bonus daughter, Debbie Stapleton, a sister, Elaine Campbell (Bowden), twelve grandchildren; Mandy Divine (Jared), Chris Troxell (Julia), Seth Alexander (Karly), Ciara Singleton (Austin), Braden Alexander (Savannah), Chris Meierer, Tabatha Jeffries (Josh), David Jeffries (Laura), Tarrin Jeffries (Corey), Derrick Jeffries (Katie), Darryck Sherrill (Heather) and Makayla Mackison (Brycen), Twenty-nine great grandchildren, numerous other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services for Mary Elnora Alexander will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 3, 2005 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. Visitation will be held one hour prior from noon until 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow the funeral at the Shiloh Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Benton County Hospice and Children’s Mercy Hospital.
