Everyone is saying relief and believing winter may be coming to an end. I am not going to say as much yet, but I will say for the time being, I am going to enjoy this "spring" weather.

Fristoe News sends condolences to husband Leroy Walker and children Pam and Keith on the passing of Armolene Walker. We received word that Armolene passed on Saturday, February 1. She was suffering from leukemia, we understand! Armolene was Armolene Smith, born and raised in the Warsaw/Lincoln area. She worked many years at the Unitog manufacturing plant. She was a great person and was really liked by everyone. Our sympathy goes to this family!

On a late note, we just got word this morning that Ike Hibdon, a favorite cowboy who lived in Fristoe on Highway CC passed away. This is all we know, but condolences are sent to his wife, Ruby along with their kids and grandkids!

Sending prayers this week for Kathy First, Lewis Retherford, Bud Hatch, Delores Prater, Gladys Harris and everyone affected by the stomach virus going around.

My granddaughter Maddie's school (Climax Springs) was not in session Friday due to illness. We understand that with teachers and students combined, there were over 70 absentees!

Happy birthday to Tina Helmig-Pratz, Amber First and Brooklyn Jackman this week. Amber and Tina on the February 9 and Brooklyn is on February 12!

Fristoe News sends congratulations to the Warsaw boy's and girl's basketball teams on their finishes at the Osceola Tournament. Both teams came home with 2nd place trophies! Way to go players and coaches!

The Fristoe Pentecostal Lighthouse Church is still down in numbers due to illness, but one-by-one things are picking up. The church was blessed with Adult Sunday School from 1 Corinthian chapter 5. Paul brings a strong word to be taught. The lesson was on sexual sin. Connie and Dave Cunningham, DoBee, Bryan, Larry and Brenda led the congregational song service, and it was great. Larry sang a special. Br. Smith's message came from the book of Luke, chapter 15; a wonderful message on the Prodigal Son!

Thought for the week: Even a woodpecker knows his success comes because he uses his head; 2 Timothy 4 You, keep your head in all situations!

We hope everyone who reads the Benton County Enterprise is healthy, happy and full of energy this coming week! God bless!
