Good day from Fristoe News! The weather has been really nice for several days, but guess what . . . after several days of really nice weather, it snowed a light dusting in the night. It is not bad for temperatures this day though.
We were brought the word that a gentlemen well known in Fristoe and married to a Fristoe local, Easter Reaves Gemes, Don Willis passed away. Don was a preacher and preached several times in Fristoe Church. Don was well respected and thought of in the community.
The prayers asked this week are for: Kathy First, Gladys Harris and several doing much better but we will remember for another week or so; Dean's Aunt Dorothy, Brenda Jackman, Gail Mann, Bud Hatch, Delores Prater and all prayers asked from friends and family, whether spoken or unspoken.
Happy Birthday to several friends of the Fristoe area these last couple weeks. Loren Vaughn, March 12; Cheryl Ellerman, March 16, my daughter-in-law Heather on March 16, and my granddaughter Autumn on March 17. Next week Dave has a birthday on March 25.
Last week friends and family said good by to Chester Hammond. There was visitation at Reser's on Wednesday and he was then buried in the Turkey Creek Chapel Cemetery. Chester will definitely be missed.
Fristoe Pentecostal Lighthouse Church is gathering their people back as lives are feeling better and folks are more in the mood to be in church to enjoy preaching praying, shouting and singing. Connie, Dave, Bryon and Sue led song service with great songs. One in particular is the favorite, "Jesus Saves"! The church is always glad to have visitors and there were several on Sunday morning! The adult Sunday School is having lessons on Minor Prophets. Today was Amos, Micah, Zephaniah, and Malachi! Br. Smith's message was from the book of Joshua chapter 4.
I am offering apologies for last week and wish everyone has a wonderful week!
