Fristoe area has had a beautiful week of weather.  Produce from gardens continues to be plentiful.  It is helpful for Dean and I to live close to our son Adam as he provides us with things like cucumbers and green peppers and living close to an Amish farmer is helpful as we have tomatoes, watermelon and sweet corn.
ATTENTION:  The Fristoe Pentecostal Lighthouse Church will be holding BRUSH ARBOR REVIVAL services on Thursday through Sunday, September 21-24, with each evening service beginning at 6:00 PM.  Each and everyone is invited and encouraged to come out and be blessed!  You will be made to feel welcome!
Birthday wishes this week go out to good friend Donna Grotz on Friday, September 22, and happy birthday to friend Kathy First on Saturday, September 23.  These good Christian ladies are friends of mine and have been for many years and they are also first cousins.  Kathy's mom, Myrtle is  an older sister to Donna's dad, Verl.  Fantastic people!
Prayer requests: Delores Prater, Judy Retherford, Kathy First, Russ Week, Lewis Retherford, Carolee Apperson, Gladys Harris, Easter Willis, Curtis Allen and Mary Scarbrough.
The Fristoe community, opened it's doors to the Fristoe Community Building and made available a wonderful meal for the family of Bob Jackman on Friday, September 15.  Bob's funeral was held on Friday morning at 10:00 AM and then burial, and then family and friends gathered at the Fristoe Community Building for lunch and fellowship!  Bob will definitely be missed  by his family.
This week I received word from Gracie Yoder on the life she is living at training  camp in Gainesville, Georgia right now.  She met all 42 squad mates and 6 are on her team.  Mornings there consist of devotions, then breakfast and morning worship together. She has had learning sessions on sharing the gospel; another was a study on cultural differences. They have personal time, and Sundays are a day of rest; church of choice then rest of day to do what you wish.  She said she read the Bible then talked to a friend at home while some got together to play games.  They take turns doing dishes after each meal, and they hand wash their own laundry.  Gracie said this is just a small overview of what life at training camp looks like.  They had Baptism last Saturday with many people giving their lives to Christ and others rededicating theirs to Him.  Thank you Gracie for sharing this!
Fristoe Lighthouse Church was down in numbers because of illness and accidents but it was a blessed service. Claude and The Lighthouse Singers sang "Never Grow Old" and Br. Ken did a beautiful job on "Enter The Gates of The City".  The Sunday School lesson was on God blessing Jacob. It shows how God has a plan for each one of us.  Br. Smith's message was from the book of Esther Chapter 4.  The study of the Jewish woman saving basically the whole Jewish Nation is very powerful.
Thought for the week:   Be careful what you say, words are windows  to your heart!
