The weather has been really good for farmers to finish haying in the fields as well as the other working that has to be done by farmers this time of year!  Gardens are still producing as well as putting on new vegetables;  tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, as well as zucchini and now pumpkins.  It has been a really good year.
It is with a sad heart that I write that longtime Fristoe native Bob Jackman passed this world after spending several weeks at the hospital in Columbia, MO.  Funeral services will be later in the week and he will be buried in the Jackman family plot in Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw.
ATTENTION: Fristoe Pentecostal Lighthouse Church is holding Revival Services  (BRUSH ARBOR STYLE) Thursday through Sunday, September 21-24, at 6:00 PM each night!
The family of Mary Scarbrough held her birthday party on Sunday afternoon at the Victory Temple Church in Cross Timbers.  Mary will be 96 years old on Monday, September 11. Mary's son's, Richard and Terry were able to be with her for the day as well as many of her grandchildren.  Mary's granddaughters had made arrangements to have the birthday celebration in the Cross Timbers Community Building, but when Sunday arrived, a mix-up had occurred and the girls were forced to make other arrangements. Several people who attend church with Sister Mary at Fristoe Lighthouse Church came and shared the afternoon with her.
Fristoe area is so proud of Gracie Yoder as she heads off for a year as a missionary.  She has sent word that as of now she is basically in training in the state of Georgia, learning much of what will prepare her for the countries she will be in as missionary.  She is excited and making many friends and asking for all of us here at  home to keep her in prayers.
Prayer requests for this week: The family of Bob Jackman, Delores Prater, Judy Retherfprd, Kathy First, Russ Week, Lewis Retherford, Carolee Apperson, Gladys Harris, Easter Willis, Curtis Allen and Mary Scarbrough.
Dean and I attended the Saturday night music that happens on the 2nd and 4th Saturday nights at  the Cross Timbers Community Building. We always enjoy it when Joe Libby attends.  He is such a good one with the songs.  Also remember Bill Hockman this week as he did not attend the music Saturday night as he was not feeling well.
Birthdays this week are Mary Scarbrough, Claude Prater and on Saturday, September 16, a big happy birthday shoutout to Garrett Hilburn as he turns 18 years old!
Fristoe Lighthouse Church had several absentees  on Sunday morning but two beautiful specials were sang, one by Ken, DoBee, Brenda and Tony, "I Am Worthy" and Br. Dave sang "Notified".  The Sunday School lesson was on Esau and Jacob.  It touched on how families need to keep their hearts in line with God. Br. Smith's message was from the book of Acts chapter and impressed how Jesus used 5 loaves and 2 fish to feed  a crowd of more than 5,000.  We learned from our message and also Sunday School lesson that we must follow God's rules and instructions.  Then we will be living to please not ourselves, but HIM.
Thought for the week: If you will feed your Faith,  your doubts will starve to death!
Hope everyone that reads Fristoe News has a safe happy and Blessed week!
