What made you become a business owner? I saw a need for someone to do what I do and like the idea of being in a position to nurture and grow a business while improving the health of others.
What was your mission at the start of your company? My mission hasn’t changed. It is to provide therapeutic massage services to those who need relaxation and the healing effects of massage therapy.
How did you come up with the company name? We are primarily an out-call business, which means we provide services at the client’s location (home, office, vacation rental, etc.). They don’t have to come to us. We go to them. However, for those who prefer to receive services in a traditional setting, we are always working on an option for that, too!
What services or products do you offer? We offer a comprehensive selection of therapeutic massage services, including full body Swedish massage, focus work, deep tissue massage, prenatal massage, pre- and post-workout sports massage, couples massage, and chair massage (perfect for group events). We also offer upgrades such as aromatherapy, hot stones, red light therapy, and cupping. Additionally, we are offering a special service of sugar scrub exfoliation leading into Mother’s Day. How many employees do you have? We currently have two LMT’s on staff.
What qualities do you look for in new employees? A new employee must be compassionate, caring, cheerful and coachable. A good LMT must also have a listening ear and emotional intelligence.
What made you start a company in this industry? I recognized that there were many people throughout the country who would benefit from massage therapy, but don’t have access to those services.
What made you choose your company’s location? As LMTs who are licensed in Missouri, we are able to offer services to anyone in the State regardless where they are located!
Does your company give back to the community? (Example: youth sports, donations, volunteers, clubs.) This is still a new, growing business. My ultimate desire would be to grow the business to a level that would enable the sponsorship of scholarships for students entering into the massage therapy or sports medicine fields.
What is unique about your company? How do you advertise? My business is unique because we travel to the client’s location with a portable massage table and provide services in the comfort and privacy of their home. We have a website (www.mobilemassage2you.com), and primarily advertise on Facebook (MobileMT2You) and Instagram (mobile_massage_2_you), but most of our clients are referred by word of mouth.
What are your company’s goals for the next year? I am laying the groundwork to expand the Mobile Massage 2 You brand by developing more partnerships, adding more staff in other locations, and increasing the services or products we provide.
Favorite customer experience? There is something very unique about being entrusted to come into someone else’s personal space. We get to know our clients as the wonderful humans they are. We meet their spouses, children, grandchildren, and pets. They become part of the MM2Y family and we cherish that!
