Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is pleased to announce that Derry Gibson is the October Employee of the Month.
Gibson has been an employee of GVMH since 2021 and works as the Patient and Staff Support Liaison. In this role, he provides pastoral care and counseling to patients, their families and staff. He also serves as the Hospice Chaplain and does interdepartmental rounding to engage staff.
In his nomination, it stated that Gibson is the epitome of the GVMH Golden Standard of Care. He is genuine, kind, professional, supportive and has a wonderful sense of humor. Not only does he support patients and their families, but Gibson supports staff members. He is well known at GVMH for his cart full of snacks and brings a smile to everyone he meets.
As the Employee of the Month, Gibson received a GVMH gift and his name will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed on the main campus. He is also one of 12 finalists for the 2024-2025 Employee of the Year award.
