Hare Wins Benton County Extension Gun Raffle

The Benton County Mu Extension Office, in an effort to support the county’s youth in furthering their education, began offering a $1,000 scholarship to be given one to Cole Camp, one to Lincoln and one in Warsaw. In 2024 they decided to add an additional $1,000 scholarship available to past scholarship recipients. To fund this, the Extension raffled tickets on a gun. It was a Savage 243 bolt action with vortex scope and bipod. A customized engraving of the Lake of the Ozarks was placed on the right side of the stock. The proud winner of the gun was Tom Hare who claimed he “never wins anything.”

Applications to apply for the scholarships will go out to the high schools and the four former recipients in the middle of January and are due back on April 1.
