Walking over to the Courthouse this morning, I noticed a few blades of green grass poking through. The first day of spring is next Thursday and it won’t be long until the lake is full of pontoon parties. St. Patrick’s Day is on Monday and Easter will show up on April 20. All fine with me, especially the Vernal Equinox next week with a full 12 hours and 10 minutes of daylight. If it doesn’t show up on time, we may be in big trouble, unless it’s raining.

BREAKING NEWS! A scientist in Seattle says he’s discovered a “Third state beyond life and death.” According to his team “It’s a breakthrough that could redefine legal death.” The third state takes place when the cells of a dead organism continue to function after the organism’s death. Okay………..is it not possible that some part of “Us,” call it a soul or a spirit may leave the earthly body on its death and continue in a spirit form? Many intelligent people down the ages have and do believe this. Look up an experiment done several decades ago where researchers showed the body experiences a very tiny loss of mass at the moment of death. I recall that the idea of a “Soul” was suggested at that time. Our universe is a complex place and we know so very little about it. Sometimes though, the simplest explanation is the most difficult to understand…isn’t it?

I am mind-wondering all over the place here. I’ll do another jump. There are a lot of stories on the news and internet about President Trump’s decision on tariffs. Several countries have complained that it will cost their citizens jobs. Guess they’re not onboard with our America First Program. You know who always wins a trade war? The country that can get its population to live with economic hardship the longest, that’s who. Would it be the U.S. where people vote out any government that turns the economy down or China where the population is happy as long as they aren’t being run over by tanks?

The week sweeps onward. Take care of yourself and keep in mind what former Daily Star Journal Publisher Bill James used to say, “Life is full of wonderful moments. Make sure you take time to enjoy them.” That’s pretty good advice Old Buddy.
