HCMF Hosts 10th Annual Big Purple Party

Posted

The Henry County Memory Fund hosted their 10th Annual Big Purple Party on Saturday, May 4th. Due to the weather, the event was held in the Fellowship Hall at the Clinton Christian Church. Attendees were encouraged to wear purple in honor of Alzheimer’s and dementia as well as the 10th year celebration. Steve Ward was the emcee of the event again this year.
We would like to take a moment and thank all the contributors, those who raised money and those that donated to this cause. These contributions allow us to help many with expenses while they are battling Alzheimer’s or dementia and so far in 2024 we have raised $22,760. All the money raised will be used locally to assist those with Alzheimer’s or dementia and to research. Monies are awarded through an application process for living expenses, medication, medical equipment, respite stays and other uses.
Each year we display the Hall of Remembrance which is to honor and remember those that have had funeral memorials left to HCMF in their memory. We continue to add new signs each year and display them all to honor and remember each of them for years to come.
Applications for assistance are available if you or someone you know is battling with Alzheimer’s or dementia. For more information you may contact Ranae Walrath, 660-890-7294 or Christa Atchison, 660-525-1338.
