Henry County Chapter NSDAR Honors Veterans

The Henry County Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution is proud to honor veterans in Windsor. On the second Tuesday of each month at 9:00 at the Senior Center in Windsor, they provide breakfast and the opportunity to have conversation with other veterans. Most have been friends for many years and have a lot to discuss, but new vets are welcomed as well. There are always several DAR members in attendance who decorate the tables according to the occasion and provide food such as fruit, breads, bacon, sausage and egg casserole. All veterans are encouraged to drop in and visit for awhile.
Following the August 13 breakfast, several DAR members were proud to present Glen Luck, a veteran, with a quilt of valor. A Quilt of Valor is a handmade quilt that is machine or hand quilted. It is awarded to a veteran of any war to show Henry County DAR’s appreciation for their service.
