James Darwin Polly

James “Jim” Darwin Polly, 69 of Odessa, Missouri passed away at his residence surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Jim was born March 23, 1953, in Tuscumbia, Missouri to Kenneth D. and Betty S. (Tyler) Polly.  He grew up in Eldon and Raytown, Missouri before moving with his family to Benton County in 1968.  He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1971.  Jim helped manage the Old Country Store in Lincoln with his father for several years before moving to Kansas City and then Odessa.  He worked at Kohl’s distribution center as a freight line worker until his retirement.  Jim enjoyed working on cars, watching westerns and spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by his father; his son, Jeffrey Polly and his wife Kristen of Warsaw, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three sisters; Trinette Stowell of Belton, Mo., Ronda Purl of Springfield, Mo., and Shannon Ewing of Warrensburg, Mo.; and one brother Mike of Warsaw.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother; his son Jason; and brother Kent.
