James O. Husong, Jr., 80, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Open Door Ministries in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
Born April 8, 1944 in Lebanon, he was the son of the late James O. Husong, Sr. and Vergie Thomas Husong.
He is survived by a niece Debbi Armstrong of Lee's Summit; a daughter-in-law, Marcy Husong of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Brittany Tommelein, Ashley Gray, Taylor Ebeling, and Jackson Husong. He was preceded in death by two sons, John David Husong and James Husong; a grandson, John Luke Husong; and a sister, Patricia Gordon.
Mr. Husong was a member of the Warsaw Assembly of God Church. He was a graduate of Warsaw High School, where he excelled as an athlete. He was also a graduate of Evangel College in Springfield. He was the district manager for Farmer's Insurance Company in Springfield and Leawood, Kansas until his retirement.
