James Richard “Rick” Sneed, age 74, of Lincoln, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026, at his home.
He was born on January 1, 1952, in Fulton, Missouri, the son of Paul Emerson Sneed and Marchetta Juanita “Chita” (Schanuth) Sneed. Rick grew up in Independence and later made his home in Warsaw in 2007 before moving to Lincoln in 2021.
Rick was employed as a tractor-trailer driver for Castle Metals for over twenty years. He was a proud member of the Steelworkers Union #348 in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as the Ararat Shrine and Masonic Lodge. In his free time, Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his best friend J.R.
He is survived by his four children: Tiffany Lynne Jones (Justin) of Sibley, Missouri; Valerie Michelle Everhart (Brian) of Peculiar, Missouri; Sally Ann Rogers (Kenneth) of Fort Collins, Colorado; and Rebecca Diane Shoemaker (James) of Parkville, Missouri. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Jenna Marie Good (Chase), Trenton Anthony Jones (Audrey), Bryson Christopher Everhart, and Corbin Malone Everhart; one great-grandson, Albert Konrad Jones; two sisters, Rebecca Joyce Nesleroad and Judy Lee Hedges, both of Independence, Missouri; and one brother, Paul Gary Sneed of Grain Valley, Missouri.
Arrangements for his cremation are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home, 101 W. Main Street, Warsaw, Missouri. Memorial services will be held by the family at a later date.
