Janice Kay Owsley, age 81, of Cross Timbers, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at the Jacobs Ladder Hospice House in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on August 28, 1943 in St. Charles, Missouri the oldest daughter of Cecil and Beatrice Davis.

She grew up in St. Charles and graduated from St. Charles High School. She later attended college where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing. Kay was employed with Bothwell Hospital in both the medical-surgical and the orthopedic units. She later took a position with Bothwell Home Health as a rehabilitation nurse.

In 1961, Kay was united in marriage to Patrick Tallman in St. Charles, MO. To this union two children were born; Christopher and Greta. They made their home in Missouri, North Dakota, Montana and returning to Missouri. The couple later divorced. In October of 1995 she was united in marriage to JC Owsley. They made their home in Cross Timbers, Missouri.

Kay enjoyed cooking, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved quilting. Kay received national notoriety with her passion and talent as a fabric artist. She received state recognition many years at the Missouri State Fair and was a member of several quilting clubs in the area.

She is survived by her husband, JC Owsley, of the home, five children; Chris Tallman and his wife Cynthia, of Warrensburg, Missouri, Greta Siegel, and her husband Stephen, of Pilot Grove, Missouri, Jesse Owsley, and his wife Vickie, of Springfield, Missouri, Katherine Long, and her husband John, of Springfield and Paula Long and her husband Jimmy, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, a brother, Ronnie Davis, and his wife Pam, of St. Charles, Missouri, a sister, Sue Recman, and her husband Milan, of O’Fallon, Missouri, nine grandchildren; Nick Siegel, of Sedalia, Missouri, Kaitlyn Clintsman, and her husband Jeremy, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Tristan Tallman, of Warrensburg, Missouri, JB Long, of Springfield, Missouri, Sarah Long, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Anna Long, of Clemson, South Carolina, Michael Owsley, of Lansing, Michigan, David Owsley, of Springfield, Missouri and Kat Owsley, of Kirksville, Missouri, two great grandchildren, Jensen and Jaeden Siegel and one more, Galilee Clintsman, on the way.

Visitation will be held at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri on Monday, March 17, 2025 from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. Burial will be held in the Cross Timbers Cemetery during a private family service.
