JBMS Music Department Gets Exemplary Ratings At Camdenton

John Boise Middle School’s (JBMS) Music Department participated in the Camdenton Middle School Contest Saturday, April 6 along with four other schools from the area.

Thirty students from JBMS took part in large ensembles in addition to solos or small ensembles. Exemplary ratings are the highest achievement followed by Outstanding and Satisfactory. Sixth grade choir received an Exemplary rating and was the only 6th grade choir in attendance. Seventh and eighth grade combined choir also received an Exemplary rating.

Small ensembles receiving an Exemplary rating were Cerecero SA (Angela Cerecero, Macey Heimsoth), Hartley SA (Jaylynn Collins, Lauren Shafton, Brynlee Wood, Chloe Yoder,) and Hill SA (Addison Hill, Amelia Roberts). Receiving an Outstanding rating were solos Aiden Hester, Maranda Myers and Chloee Richardson. Small groups receiving Outstanding were the Burnham SA (Alyssa Boyd, Abigail Burnham) and Culbertson SA (Serenity Culbertson, Brooke Terry, Katrin Tye).

Sixth and seventh grade choirs are under the direction of Lydia Schockmann. Eighth grade choir is under the direction of Deanna Schockmann. Upcoming for the JBMS music department is the Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 7 at 7:00.
