K of C, Leathernecks Hold'em Tourney Benefits Salvation Army

Posted

The Knights of Columbus and the Warsaw Leathernecks, sponsored their May Texas Hold'em Tournament for the Salvation Army of Warsaw, Benton County.

They are dedicated to serving all those in need in the entire county.  Most of the funding is spent assisting clients with emergency needs including food, clothing, medicine, gasoline and utility payments to ensure these basic needs are being met.

They started a summer program called Benton County MO Kids Meals in 2020 distributing drive through pick up food from the USDA for kids during COVID.

Last year the USDA did not fund drive food pickups, so they stepped up and raised funds in the community. Currently they distribute to an average of 375 kids who receive 5 meals weekly.

The Knights of Columbus and the Warsaw Leathernecks are proud to be a part of the Salvation Army's Mission to Serve our community and invite anyone who is interested to support the Salvation Army as well.
