Kathaloma Garcia, age 87, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at her home.
She was born on July 22, 1938, in Maysville, Kentucky, the daughter of Samuel and Katharine (Kennan) McSorley. Kathaloma graduated from high school in Campbellsville, Kentucky, and went on to attend nursing school in Cincinnati, Ohio.
While visiting family in California, she met the love of her life, Stephen Michael Garcia. On August 28, 1959, they were united in marriage. Together they made their home in Kansas City, Missouri, where they were blessed with three children. In 1989, the family moved to Warsaw, Missouri, where they embraced and enjoyed lake life.
She was a devoted wife and mother who truly loved everything about being a mother. She had a creative spirit and especially enjoyed ceramics, even owning her own kiln. She was a faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Warsaw, Missouri.
Kathaloma was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bill William McSorley.
She is survived by her loving husband, Stephen Michael Garcia, of the home; her children, Alex (Ellen) Garcia of Lone Jack, Missouri, Stephen Michael Garcia Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri, and Lorraine Garcia of Kansas City, Missouri; nine grandchildren; her sister, Teri (Bob) Ireland of Melbourne, Kentucky; and many dear friends.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
