Kathleen “Kathy” Ann (Carver) Krier, 79, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was born May 6, 1946, in Albion, Nebraska, where she was raised and later met the love of her life, John “Jack” Krier. They were married on February 6, 1965, and shared 52 wonderful years together until Jack’s passing in 2017.
Kathy and Jack began their life together in the newspaper business, owning and operating community newspapers across the Midwest, from South Dakota to Missouri, before ultimately settling in Warsaw. While living in Audubon, Iowa, they combined their talents and entrepreneurial spirit to create Jumbo Jack’s Cookbook Company, which specialized in printing community and fundraiser cookbooks for churches, schools, and civic organizations throughout the region. Kathy handled layout and design and took great pride in helping organizations raise funds through recipes shared from home kitchens across America.
After decades in the newspaper industry, Kathy and Jack retired from Main Street Media and moved from Russell, Kansas, to Warsaw, Missouri, in 2014, where they became active members of their parish and community.
Through all of life’s seasons, Kathy was the quiet strength behind the scenes: devoted to her husband, steadfast in her faith, and endlessly proud of her family. She was a long-time member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Warsaw, where she faithfully served on the Altar and Rosary Society and volunteered for parish activities. She was also a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Kathy loved sewing, cooking, and giving her time to others. She had a servant’s heart and found joy in small acts of kindness.
Kathy is survived by her children: Julie (Ken) Pingrey of Coon Rapids, Iowa; Sherry (Peter) Kao of Southlake, Texas; James (Kameron) Krier of Warsaw, Missouri; and Nikki (John Plumlee) Krier of Branson West, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, and her eldest daughter, DiAnn Bills.
Kathy also leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Miranda Bills (fiancé, Jesse); MacKenzie Bills; Wilson (Semayat) Pingrey, who are expecting the first great-grandson in February 2026; Levi Pingrey; Makena Kao and Olivia Kao; Ashton and Danielle Plumlee; and Kennedy Krier. Each one brought her immeasurable pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Carver; her sister, Betty; and her brothers, Bob, Bud, and Don. She is survived by her brother, Richard.
Kathy passed away due to complications from vascular dementia following a fall in August 2025. Her quiet faith, perseverance, and love for her family never wavered.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 17, 2025, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Warsaw, Missouri. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass, from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Rosary will begin at 10:30 A.M. Interment will take place in Audubon, Iowa, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Ann Catholic Church or to a charity of your choice in Kathy’s memory.
Above all, Kathy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and her deep devotion to her faith. She lived a life of grace, humility, and kindness—leaving behind a family forever grateful for the love she gave so freely.
