Ladycats Grind Out Win Over Cougars

Brylee Brewster struck out 15 of the 26 batters she faced, but the Warsaw offense was forced to grind things out to hang on to beat the visiting Crest Ridge Cougars last Thursday night, 6-2.

Brewster allowed 2 runs on just 3 hits and walked 0 in the win.

Warsaw got out to an early lead after Brewster drew a walk to force in a run.

In the second, a single by Mady Reimund and a free pass drawn by Sara Miller extended the Ladycats lead to 3-0.

Warsaw added to their lead in the bottom of the third after Elizabeth Winters drew a walk and Maylee Slavens doubled in a run on a shot to left field.

Crest Ridge plated 2 runs in the fifth but it was too little too late as the Ladycats held on for the 6-2 win.

Addison Sherrill and Winters both collected 2 hits in the game for the now 12-1 Ladycats.

Warsaw's game on Monday at Stover was washed out. They were scheduled to host Eldorado Springs on Tuesday night in another OHC matchup.
