Ladycats Win 2 Of 3 Last Week

Warsaw volleyball won in straight sets over Conway and at Windsor on Tuesday and Wednesday to move to .500 but fell back below that mark on Thursday with a loss at St. Paul Lutheran (Concordia).

On Tuesday, the Ladycats entertained the home crowd by jumping out in front of Conway by taking the first set, 25-14. The second set was similar in a 25-13 win and then the Green and Black fired things up in the third and final set, rolling to a 25-8 win.

Haylee Cobb recorded 9 kills for Warsaw while Maylee Slavens came in with 6 and Hailey Ferguson had 5.

Elizabeth Winters led in the assist department with 17. Tanna Howe tallied 21 digs while Julianne Kilgore and Winters had 9 apiece.

Warsaw traveled to Windsor on Wednesday and got off to a characteristically slow start but then rallied to take the first set, 25-16. They then went on to dominate their hosts, 25-11 in the second set before taking the match with a 25-17 third set win.

Maylee Slavens led the way with 8 kills while Hailey Ferguson and Mady Reimund both finished with 6.

Elizabeth Winters recorded 20 assists and Kaleby Stevenson was also in double-digits with 12. Tanna Howe added to her digs total with 11.

On Thursday, the Ladycats let another slow start put them in a hole that they were eventually unable to dig out of as they fell 22-25. Warsaw was no match for the Lady Saints in the second set as several unforced errors led to a 10-25 shellacking. In the third set, the Ladycats let most of the way before succumbing to the St. Paul girls in a 22-25 loss.

Haylee Cobb had 6 kills in the match while Hailey Ferguson, Elizabeth Winters and Mady Reimund all had 4. Winters also had 14 assists.

Tanna Howe recorded another 24 digs for Warsaw while Julianne Kilgore finished with 13.

The Ladycats traveled to Smith-Cotton on Tuesday and will be at Tipton on Wednesday before they return to take on the Adrian Lady Blackhawks on Thursday for Pink Out.
