Larry Dale Eckhoff

Larry Dale Eckhoff, age 80, of Lincoln, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Lincoln Community Care Center.

He was born on March 30, 1944 in Sedalia, Missouri, the son of Rufus and Ella Schnakenberg Eckhoff. Larry was raised and educated in Lincoln and was a 1962 graduate of Lincoln High School. Following high school, he attended the Molars Barber School in Kansas City and worked as a barber in Lincoln after he graduated. He later was employed at the MFA Fertilizer plant in Cole Camp and the Lincoln Lumber Yard. He spent many years of his life as a carpenter, building and remodeling homes in Lincoln and the surrounding areas.

On November 27, 1965, Larry was united in marriage to Judi Johnson and they made their home on a farm North of Lincoln where they raised their four boys, Dustin, Darren, Nathan and Neil. During his younger years, he spent his free time working on his cattle farm. Later in life, he spent many hours in his garden and attending his grandchildren's activities and sporting events.

Larry was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln where he was baptized and confirmed. He served faithfully in many positions, including trustee, president and elder.

Larry is survived by his wife, Judi of the home, his sons Dustin and wife Roxana of Warsaw, Nathan and wife Jacque of Columbia and Neil and wife Elly of Lincoln, daughter-in-law Sheree Eckhoff, thirteen grandchildren: Seth Eckhoff, Anna Eckhoff, Lydia Ryan (Austin), Benjamin Eckhoff, Emarie Eckhoff, Adison Eckhoff, Ryan Eckhoff (Adrian), Christina Eckhoff, Kyle Eckhoff, Rylee Eckhoff, Reese Eckhoff, Noah Eckhoff and Abigail Eckhoff; two great-grandchildren: Kayden Eckhoff and Madalyn Eckhoff, his brother Kenneth and wife Donna of Lee's Summit, sister-in-law Janis Cobb, brother-in-laws Sonny Johnson (Maxine) and Dale Hessefort (Patty), several nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Darren, mother and father-in-law Homer and Ruth Johnson, his sister-in-law Joyce Hessefort, and nephews Steve Hessefort and Tim Cobb.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln with visitation being held one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Seth, Ryan, Kyle, Noah and Benjamin. Memorials can be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund.
