Larry Richwine, 75, of Windsor, Mo., died Thursday evening, August 15, 2024, in Blue Springs, Mo.
He was born January 13, 1949, in Ionia, Mo., the son of Roy Leo Richwine and Ruby Pearl (Harms) Richwine. In October of 1971, he married Peggy Jo Stick in Windsor, Mo., and she survives of the home in Windsor.
Larry worked at the former Ferguson Chevrolet in Windsor during high school. After serving in the United States Navy, he owned and operated Windsor Auto Truck & Tractor, selling NAPA auto parts, for over 30 years. Following retirement, he moved to Pleasant Hill and continued working for the local NAPA store. Dirt racing was a large part of Larry’s life. It was a family affair that forged many close friendships.
In addition to his wife Peggy, survivors include 2 sons, Jeff Richwine (Melissa), Sedalia, Mo., and Chad Richwine (fiancé Kerra Houk), Holden, Mo.; a grandson, Zak Tylar (Brooke); a granddaughter, Haley Richwine (fiancé Seth Thompson); 2 great-grandchildren, Diesel and Sailor Tylar; a brother, Rick Richwine, Columbia, Mo.; a sister, Carol Acker, Windsor, Mo.; several nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces; and many part’s store friends and racing friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Richwine and his wife Joyce; a brother-in-law, Walter “Shorty” Acker; and a nephew, Gabe Richwine.
The family received friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening, August 22, 2024, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. Burial will take place at a later date in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family suggests contributions to the Windsor High School Master Scholarship Endowment Fund (checks payable to WHS MSEF) for students who will study auto mechanics after high school.
