Larry Wayne Schultz, age 80, of Warsaw, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 30, 1944 in Sedalia, Missouri the son of Leo Wilbur and Betty Jean (Todd) Schultz.
He grew up in Sedalia, Missouri and attended Smith Cotton High School. Larry enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1966. He was on the USS Stickell, a Navy Destroyer, and involved in the Cuban Missile Crisis blockade.
On May 14, 1966 he was united in marriage to his wife Patricia. They made their home for a few years in Philadelphia before moving to Buckner, Missouri. Larry was employed as a power plantengineer and operator for thirty-three years by Missouri Public Service Company at the Sibley power plant. In 2000 he retired and he and Pat moved to Warsaw. He enjoyed boating and fishing with his grandkids. He also enjoyed playing pool at the local establishments.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Lawrence W. Schultz, a sister, Gloria Fundis and a brother, Mark Schultz.
Larry is survived by his wife of 59 years Patricia (Moore) Schultz, of the home, two children: Kathy Santana, and her husband Joseph, of Kansas City, Kansas, Dina Lutjen, and her husband Randy, of Independence, Missouri, two siblings: Christine Cannon, of North Carolina and Mike Schultz, of California, six grandchildren: Megan Miller, Trevor Lutjen, Chase Lutjen, Olivia Lutjen, Zach Bonee and Taylor Cantrell (Jake), two great grandchildren: Chloe and Lana, with a 3rd (McCLain) expected in June, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Larry W. Schultz will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 30, 2025 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. Graveside services and military rites will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri.
