Riley Warren was named the Lincoln High School Valedictorian.
Matthew Kreisler, son of Philip Kreisler and Kathy Williams, was named as the Lincoln High School salutatorian at the LHS graduation on May 13.
Active in many different activities, Kreisler was a member of Student Council (7-12); National Honor Society (11-12); FCCLA (9); Archery Team (4-12); Golf Team (9-12); and Academic Team (9-12).
Music has been an important part of Kreisler’s education.  He was the Drum Major for the LHS marching band as well as performing in band since his fifth-grade year.  Kreisler also performed with the LHS Show Choir, Chamber Choir and was selected for the All-District Choir his senior year.
“Mrs. Helland, my music teacher, is a phenomenal teacher and she has helped me so much,” said Kreisler.  “I loved attending Lincoln schools because I could try so many different activities.”
Kreisler performed with the State Fair Concert Band for dual credit his senior year.  Next year Kreisler will be singing with the State Fair Community College Chamber Choir and jazz choir.
This summer Kreisler will attend Missouri Boys’ State.  He previously attended Missouri Leadership Seminar online.
Kreisler plans to attend State Fair Community College this fall.  He plans to study law enforcement.
Kreisler’s advice to underclassmen, “Enjoy school but do not stress too much over grades.  Have fun!”

Alyssa Alcantara, daughter of Ray and Shannon Alcantara, was named as the Class of 2022 Valedictorian at the WHS graduation on May 19.
This fall Alcantara plans to attend Northwest Missouri State University to study microbiology with a future in bacteriophage research.
While in high school Alcantara was very active in cross country and track.  She qualified for the Missouri State Cross Country event all four years in high school.  She also competed in the Missouri State Track event one year.
In addition to track, Alcantara was active in Band (marching and concert); FCCLA; Archery; and NHS.
“I will miss band and my running buddies next year,” said Alcantara.
Her advice to underclassmen about how to achieve good grades was to break down assignments and work on short term goals instead of looking at the long term.
“Go above expectations,” said Alcantara in order to be successful.
One of her fondest memories of high school was running in the Missouri State Cross Country meet her freshman year.
“College and high school students came out to watch the freshman run so it was exciting,” said Alcantara.
Emma Johnson, daughter of Neil and Lindy Johnson, was named as the Salutatorian of the Class of 2022.
Johnson was the Editor-in-Chief of the 2022 Ozark Echoes yearbook.  She was also active in FBLA, NHS, Student Council, Volleyball, Pep Club and Screen Team.
Johnson said she would mill the familiarity of WHS.  “It was great to know everyone.  Although I am excited to meet new people and have new experiences, I will miss the students, staff and teachers at WHS,” said Johnson.
Johnson said in order to succeed a student must prioritize his/her time and set aside time to study.  “You have to weigh what it is worth your time.  Should you finish your assignments or go hang out with friends?”
Johnson’s plans for this fall include attending Missouri State University to study social work.  She would like to become a social worker specializing in therapy.
