Wednesday evening, December 11 was Shop with a Cop night. Each year, local first responders take a group of kids Christmas shopping. This year, twelve students from the Lincoln R-2 School District were selected to participate.
Five officers from the Lincoln Police Department, one Missouri Conservation Agent, some from the Lincoln Fire Department and members of BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) accompanied the kids on the shopping spree. The destination was Walmart in Warsaw.
This annual holiday event is completely funded by donations. After the gifts are purchased, they are wrapped for the children by the police officers, their families and Lincoln city clerks.
