Born Lori Jeanne Jones January 14 1955 in Smithville, Missouri to Evelyn and Newton Jones She grew up in North Kansas City, graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1973 with National honors. In 1976 she got her RN at Research College of Nursing, 1st in her graduating class of 125. She was a Nurse for 40 years which included attending Park College and getting a BSc in Health Management graduating Summa Cum Laude. She chose to work in the ER including years as a Head Nurse. She was a nursing teacher and received many commendations including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Emergency Nurses Association. The last years of her working life she spent running the Trauma Department at North Kansas City Hospital.
She retired in 2017. She deeply loved her family, her friends, her dogs over the years, her work, her Lake House with its activities, music, dancing and just having fun.
2018 she was diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment which was the precursor to Alzheimer’s
She was predeceased by her mother and father and she is survived by her life partner Doug, her son Jamie, daughter in law Candace and her grandson Jace, her dog Molly, her sisters Mary Ellen and Cheryl, large extended family and many many friends.
Lori requested a simple cremation and a Celebration of Life to be arranged.
