Maggie Ellen (Spry) Gardner, age 79, of Sedalia, was called to her eternal home on Saturday, May 31, 2025. She was born on January 9, 1945, in Edwards, Missouri, the beloved daughter of Ben and Hazel (McDavitt) Spry.

Maggie grew up on the family farm in Edwards, where she attended Globe School, a one-room schoolhouse where her eldest sister, Lucille, was her teacher. She later attended R-6 in Edwards and graduated from Warsaw High School with the Class of 1962.

Maggie. Mag. Mom. Grandma. Sis. Aunt Maggie. Her journey on this earth was one marked by compassion, love, laughter, and an unwavering faith in God. We ask that you remember her not by how her life ended, but by how it was lived—through her profound love for family and friends, and her remarkable gift to bring joy, laughter, and fun to all those around her.

She is survived by her two grandsons, Cody Nelson (Jessie) and Kyle Nelson; great-grandson, Broly; two sisters, Ruth Anderson and Kathy Hart (J.D.); one aunt, Imogean Dority; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Michelle (Gardner) Nelson; two sisters, Lucille Howell and Janet Davis; five brothers: Ben Spry Jr., Arnold Spry, Don Spry, Stanley Spry, and Olen Spry; as well as her parents, Ben and Hazel Spry.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Bethel Campground Cemetery.
