Mahomes Jersey Raffle Raises Big Bucks For Playground Expansion

The winning ticket for the Patrick Mahomes Autographed Jersey was drawn Sunday at the Warsaw Leathernecks Marine Corps League and the name on the ticket was Retired Marine Jeff Cloud who recently moved to the area.

"I never win anything, but I'm going to hang this on my wall," replied Cloud when he hoisted up the jersey.

The raffle sponsored by the Warsaw Leathernecks raised $7,534 for the Playground Expansion at Drake Harbor which plans to triple the size of the rubberized play area, add more playground equipment, benches, shade structures and a flushing restroom plaza.

This was the biggest FUNdraiser for the Playground to date bringing the total raised to $98,094. It took the efforts of several volunteers: Raffle Director Toby Bolender, Ivan Godsey, Paul and Janet Wyrick, Patty Howell, Susan Kelb and the Lincoln VFW, the Elks Club, Randy Pogue, Kathy King, Jessi Kendall, and Don and Bonnie Wall.

The next FUNdraiser for the Playground is a brand new, handmade Grinch Christmas Quilt that was donated to the cause. It is twin sized so perfect for a bed, couch throw, or as a wall hanging. Look for it on Facebook Marketplace. First buyer gets it.
