Marvel J. “Mars” Wininger, age 83, of Edwards, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Bothwell Regional Hospital in Sedalia, Missouri.

She was born February 12, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest and Evelyn (Miller) Kingery. Mars grew up in Wichita, where she graduated from high school. She continued her education, earning a degree in bookkeeping.

On October 8, 1985, she was united in marriage to Jess Wininger in Lincoln, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Lincoln before later moving to Edwards, Missouri. Mars was a devoted wife and mother and worked alongside her husband in his surveying business. Together they had many adventures in the RV. She enjoyed Cornhusker football games and especially loved her dog, “Precious,” who brought her much joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Lee Kingery.

Mars is survived by her husband of forty years, Jess Wininger, of the home; four children, Pete Marshall (Barb) of Benton County, Missouri, Shaun Marshall of Warsaw, Veronica Barnard of Warsaw, and Jennifer Wininger of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; and eight grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at Reser Funeral Home, 101 W. Main Street, Warsaw, Missouri. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph's Indian School c/o Reser Funeral Home.
