Steve and Debbie Wilson have a heart for helping others create stronger, healthier marriages. In 1990, their marriage fell apart. With God’s intervention and His promise, ”that what He began, he will complete,” Phil 1:6, they worked their way back stronger than ever. It totally changed their passion and journey. After four years of working towards a great marriage, God impressed on them to began sharing what God had done and how he could help every marriage. Thus, they began teaching marriage conferences around the country.
First Baptist Church Clinton is pleased to host the Wilsons for a Marriage and Parenting Weekend on their main campus located at 1531 Vansant Rd, Clinton, September 6-8. On Friday at 6 p.m., the weekend will begin with a catered brisket dinner. The session will focus on “Communication: The Missing Piece,” which teaches couples to communicate beyond surface issues of the heart, communicating at such a level that they become emotionally connected. On Saturday, the conference will continue at 8:30 a.m. with a light breakfast, and then wrap up by noon. On Sunday, during both the 9:30 a.m. and the 11:00 a.m. worship service, the Wilsons will share practical tips on setting expectations. They will switch gears and return on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. to facilitate a “Parenting with Purpose” session. The church will provide dinner for that session as well. The cost to attend any or all of these sessions is only $20, and childcare will be provided! Space is limited! Steve and Debbie have been married 45 years. Steve has his Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family counseling and Debbie has her BA in Psychology. Family is a major priority in their lives and they love sharing their story. They are sought out speakers and love every opportunity to share their experiences and combined wisdom with transparency and humor. The have authored two books: The 8 Mosquitos that Drain the Life out of Marriage and Relationships, and Communication: The Missing Piece of the Marriage Puzzle.
