New Playground In Warsaw Receives Donation From Fischer Concrete

Fischer Concrete Services has pledged to donate a portion of the concrete needed for the Playground Expansion at Drake Harbor in Warsaw. Their donation valued at $2,831 brings the total raised by the community through various events and fundraisers to $63,524.

"It's a good start on our goal of $300,000," said FUNdraisers volunteer Bonnie Wall, "but we have a long way to go. We appreciate the local groups and organizations stepping up to host FUNdraisers to create a better park for our families with modern, flushing restrooms."

Contributing to the total is the recent Chiefs Squares Watch Parties hosted by the Warsaw Leathernecks Marine Corps League. Participants buy a square for $10 in hopes of matching the Chiefs and their opponents score each quarter. So far, lucky fans have won $1,310 and the Leathernecks have donated $1,310 from the Squares bringing the total raised by the Gold Sponsor Leathernecks to $4,479. Squares are for sale at the Leatherneck's at 607 E Jefferson, Warsaw.

The Playground Committee thanks everyone that tossed quarters, nickels, dimes and dollars in the Change Jugs located at stores and restaurants around the area. That campaign brought in $364 for the Playground Expansion.

Best of all, the Bibb family will match every dollar raised up to $300,000, so your donations are worth twice as much.

Upcoming events include the Turkey Trot 5K on Nov. 23 and the Jingle Stroll through the Christmas Lights on Dec.14.
