Popular Establishment In Lakeview Heights Community, Katt's Place Suffers Devastating Fire On Thursday Night

Katt’s Place, a popular bar/restaurant in Lakeview Heights had a serious fire Thursday night, October 24. The Lakeview Heights Fire Department had been called earlier in the afternoon and after they believed all danger of fire had passed, had left.

An area resident called the department back after they saw flames in the structure. The flames soon turned into a major fire that had not only Lakeview heights on the scene but also the Stover Rural Fire department, Lincoln Fire and the Cole Camp Rescue.

The group of dedicated fire fighters did manage to save two of the structures but the bar/restaurant is a complete loss. According to sources the owners plan to rebuild.

The Countryside Eagles #4286 hosted a Halloween party for the area children on Saturday afternoon October 26 between 4-6:30 p.m. They had constructed a haunted village, played games, furnished treats and gave them refreshments, in addition to the costume contest.

As evening arrived it was the adults turn to celebrate the spooky holiday. The adults drug out the costumes and danced to the music made by the full moon band.

There were haunting parties all over, as the Marina down on the waterfront also hosted a costume party and furnished a band for live dance music.
