Time for the 36th Biennial Warsaw All-School Reunion is quickly approaching. Reservations for the reunion meal must be made in advance and are due by May 17, 2024. The reunion will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the John Boise Middle School. The gym will open at 2:00 PM for social hour. Those just coming for the social hour will pay an entry fee of $2.00 per person. This will allow time for visiting with fellow alumni. Classes wanting to reserve a table for the meal should contact the Alumni Board, so tables can be set up accordingly.

Honored classes will be 1998/1999 for 25th anniversary, 1973/1974 for 50th anniversary, and 1948/1949 for 75th anniversary. The WHS Alumni Board had been delving into information about the honored classes. We found that 33 seniors received their diplomas at the Community Building on Friday, May 14, 1948 at 8:00 PM. Dr. Forrest C. Allen, coach of the Kansas University basketball team, was the commencement speaker. Valedictorian was Anna Lee Wheeler and Salutatorian was Biddle Freund.

In 1949, the Warsaw seniors won the PBCAA One Act Play contest with "Sugar and Spice." Cast included Jane White, Jenna Lee Martin, Louis Bell, Lester Hensley, and Betty Jo Dawson. Mrs. Stallings was the director.

In 1973, Lettermen's Club composed of any student who earned a letter in basketball, baseball, or golf included seniors David Smallwood, Clifford Downing, Eddie Simons, Eddie Barnes, Steve Boeger, Steve Barb, John White, Larry Whitaker, Charles Christiansen, and Doug Stevens. Letter Ladies composed of girls who played in 2/3 of all the volleyball or softball games included seniors Lennie Lane, Dedra Swearngin, and Charlene Miller.

Brad Spencer was elected senior class president in 1974. Warna Schroder escorted by Scott Stephens was crowned FHA queen in 1974.

Shamane Gatliff and Joel Helland were the co-editors of the Ozark Echoes yearbook in 1998. Senior band member, Kendra Thomas, traveled to London to march in their New Year's Day Parade. Kendra stated it was a unique experience.

Nineteen ninety-nine saw several accomplishments for WHS sports teams. Three seniors were members of the first Cross Country team from Warsaw that qualified for State. They were Lindsey Murray, Tara Burnett, and Karen Clark. The 1999 Wrestling team had a season of accomplishments with four seniors going to State. They included John Boley, Brandon Lubke, Lance Estes, and Daniel Yoder, who placed second in the 145 lb. division.

Each year the Warsaw Alumni Association gives two $1,400 scholarships to graduating seniors. It is very important to continue these scholarships. Donations can be made at any time for the scholarships through memorials, trusts, and wills. Donations can be made to the Scholarship Fund by mailing a check to the Warsaw School Alumni Association, P.O. Box 1528, Warsaw, Missouri. All donations are greatly appreciated.

We hope to see many Warsaw Wildcat alumni on Saturday, June 8, 2024. You can also enjoy Jubilee Day events before and after the reunion.
