Rhonda Jean Estenbaum Hollingsworth, 64, of Warsaw, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia after a battle with lung cancer. She was born on July 4, 1960, in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, a daughter of David Arthur and Carol Lee (Hughes) Hollingsworth.
Rhonda was a graduate of Warsaw High School Class of 1979, where she had many friends, but her best friend was Debbie Freed. Her brother Dave called them Thelma and Louise. She loved the lake area and her family, cousins, aunt and uncle would spend many summers at the Lake House. That was their summer fun. After graduation, Rhonda moved back to the Kansas City and Platte City areas where she spent most of her adult life, but came back to the lake every chance she could.
Rhonda had a love for animals, mostly her dogs and cats. She loved her German Shepherds and an occasional stray, she would say that they were her critters. She also loved to pet sit.
She moved back to Warsaw five years ago, where she made her home and married Robert Estenbaum on December 24, 2021. They enjoyed the lake together, working on the lake house and fishing.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Estenbaum of the home; three brothers, Rick Hollingsworth and Patti of Tonganoxie, Kansas, Ron Hollingsworth and Katie of Shawnee, Kansas, Dave Hollingsworth and Liz of Warsaw; step-son, Ryan Estenbaum and Angela and his family; nieces and nephews, Tricia, Dusty, Tracie, Denny, Jimmy, Megan, and Hope and their families; lots of cousins; and her life-long friend, Debbie Freed and her daughter Sara.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Carol Hollingsworth.
A celebration of Rhonda's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp. Online condolences may be left at www.foxfuneralhomecolecampm o.com.
