Robert A. Smith, age 82, of Lincoln, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born December 7, 1943, in Nodaway County, Missouri, the son of George and Winifred Smith. Robert grew up in Pickering, Missouri, where he attended school and graduated from high school.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1962 until receiving his honorable discharge in 1964. On October 17, 1964, he was united in marriage to Barbara, the love of his life. Together they established their home in Omaha, Nebraska, where they welcomed their daughter, Tanya.

For thirty years, Robert was employed as a machinist with Vickers Company, where he helped manufacture hydraulic pumps. Following his retirement in 1998, he and Barbara moved permanently to Lincoln, Missouri, where they enjoyed their retirement years together.

Robert enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life. He loved bowling, golfing, and fishing. He was also a licensed private pilot and enjoyed spending time in the skies. However, one of his greatest passions was amateur radio. As a HAM radio operator, he took great pleasure in communicating with people from around the world and forming friendships across great distances.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, George and Winifred Smith; and two brothers, Kenneth Smith and Wayne Smith.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Barbara Smith; his daughter, Tanya Prisendorf and husband Gary of Sedalia, Missouri; three grandchildren, David Allen, Jr. of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jeralyn Fullerton and husband Spencer of Georgetown, Missouri, and Sheila Kelley of Sedalia, Missouri; one brother, Dave Smith and wife Shirley of Lincoln, Missouri; along with other relatives and many friends who will cherish his memory.

Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Warsaw, Missouri.
