Roderick “Rod” L. Grobe

Roderick “Rod” L. Grobe, age 75, of Warsaw, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025, at his home. He was born on July 1, 1950, in Benton County, Missouri , the son of Lynn and Joleen (Smith) Grobe.

Rod attended Warsaw public schools and excelled in both baseball and basketball. He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1968. Following high school, Rod worked for the Reser Funeral Home before pursuing opportunities that took him beyond Missouri. He drove a delivery truck in Oklahoma and later worked in the oil fields on the Western Slope of Colorado. He eventually returned to Warsaw prior to the construction of the Truman Dam as a surveyor. In the early and mid-1990s, Rod served as Superintendent of Shawnee Bend Golf Course. He spent his last working days serving the patrons of Nix Bar.

An avid outdoorsman, Rod loved turkey and duck hunting, and as a passionate golfer, he held the course record at Shawnee Bend for many years. Above all, Rod cherished time spent with his granddaughters. He delighted in watching Madison and Kiersten compete in their school sports and took great pride in all their achievements.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Steve Grobe.

Rod is survived by his son, Brian Grobe, and his wife Pam; his beloved granddaughters, Madison and Kiersten Grobe; and his sister, Linda Smith, all of Warsaw.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw. A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
