Shelly L. Dabbs

Shelly Loraine Dabbs, age 60, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at her home. She was born on June 7, 1964, in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of Carroll W. Dabbs and Dollie Ione (Johnson) Dabbs.

She grew up for a short time in Frazier Park, California, before moving to Warsaw. Shelly graduated from Warsaw High School in 1982 and then moved to Denton, Texas, where she was employed by the college as a dietitian. She later was employed by Bothwell Hospital as a Certified Nurse's Assistant.

Shelly loved her family dearly, caring for each child as her own. They always knew where to go if they needed something. Shelly was always sure to give her whole heart to each of them.

Shelly loved to volunteer and help with the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances in her Oak Grove Community. Shelly knew a few moves of her own and loved to dance. She was an avid fan of the Chiefs and Royals and even babysit for some of the players' children years ago. One of her greatest pleasures was taking her great nieces and nephews to the games.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Roy W. Boyer, and one brother-in-law Loyd Wayne Murphy.

Shelly is survived by two sisters; Sharyl Branson and her husband Ted, of Warsaw and Synthia Murphy, of Albany, Missouri, two step sisters; Kim Ash, of Kansas City and Julie Crowder and her husband Lonnie, of Kansas City three nephews; Rick Branson and his wife Janette, of Duluth, Minnesota, Steven Branson and his wife Amber, of Peculiar, Missouri and Paul Murphy, of Albany, three nieces; Jennifer Dawson, and her husband Harold, of Independence, Missouri, Michelle Branson, of Warsaw and Brittany Murphy, of Oak Grove, Missouri, fourteen great nieces and nephews, seven great great nieces and nephews including one the way.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw.
