Stephen L. Barb, age 69, of Warsaw, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on March 5, 1955 the son of John and Rosemary (Bybee) Barb. He grew up in Warsaw and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1973.
Steve had a long and dedicated career in civil service, beginning with summer work relocating graves affected by the construction of the Truman Dam. He went on to serve for thirty-six years with the United States Postal Service, initially as a postal clerk in Warsaw for nine years before moving to Sedalia as a letter carrier.
Steve was united in marriage to Pam Hedrick on December 31, 1982, and together they had one daughter, Ashley. They made their home in Warsaw before relocating to Sedalia. On April 22, 2006, he married his wife Debbie, who survives of the home. Steve was a devoted father, granddad, brother, and husband, and was a cherished friend to many.
Steve was a proud member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and had a variety of interests. He loved fishing, hunting, golfing, and was a member of the Warsaw Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. An avid Kansas City Royals fan, Steve rarely missed a game. He even enjoyed traveling to their spring training sessions in Arizona. Steve had a love for antiques. He spent his retirement years traveling all over to auctions and sales, buying and selling antiques.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, John & Rosemary Barb.
He is survived by his wife Debbie Barb, four children; Ashley Raetz (Nathan), of Sedalia, Missouri, Brandon Grable, of Sedalia, Missouri, Rebecca Mausbach (Scott), of Omaha, Nebraska and Jenna Deibel (Corey), of Carthage, North Carolina, nine grandchildren; Calloway, Georgia, Caroline, Thomas, Ty, Reid, Parker, Camden and Tanner, a sister, Leah Clarke (Brad), of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, a nephew Landon Meyer (Jaclyn), of North Kansas City, Missouri and two great nephews, Lucas and Bennett.
Funeral Services for Stephen L. Barb will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri with Pastor Jason McCray officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow at the Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw.
