Steven L. Prine

Steven Leon Prine Sr. age 78, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Monday, August 3, 2026 at his home. He was born on September 6, 1947, in Iola, Kansas the son of John Robert Prine and Ida Mae (Duece) Prine. He was a loving husband, father, Papaw, Great-Papaw, and dog dad to Bailey.

Steven worked as a machinist for 35 years and was a man who enjoyed working with his hands and building things. Some people will remember him as the “pontoon man,” after he built an impressive 50-by-16-foot houseboat in his own backyard. Others will remember him as the “Spoony Diver guy,” known for making some of the best divers in the USA. But to his family, he will always be remembered as the kindest and most loving man in the world.

In March of 1966, Steven married his high school sweetheart, Jody. Together they raised their family, including their son, Steven Jr., and two daughters, Stacy and Tracy.

Steven enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, especially fishing, hunting, and building. His talents could be seen in the many things he created over the years, including the home where he spent his retirement.

Steven was a member of the Church of Christ in Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his parents; eight siblings; and his son, Steven Jr.

Steven is survived by his loving wife, Jody; two daughters, Stacy and Tracy, of Blue Springs; six grandsons, Michael, Christopher, Daniel, Tanner, Amir, and Leyth; one granddaughter, Mariah; five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jackson, Logan, Madelyn, and Liam; his beloved dog, Bailey; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held Friday afternoon, August 7, 2026, at the Blue Springs Cemetery, following a private family viewing at the Blue Springs Church of Christ.
