Susan R. Nelson, age 77, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

She was born on November 23, 1948, in Marysville, California, the daughter of Watkin Price (Bud) Watkins and Edith A. (Allen) Watkins. Sue's early school years were in the Yuba City area, but she graduated from McClatchy High School in Sacramento.

In 1967, she was united in marriage to Richard Frank Parker; they had a son, Richard Watkin. After their divorce, she married Kenneth Charles Pierce, Jr. The family included Kenny's children, Sean and Anna, and Sue gave birth to Robert William Pierce in December 1977. When Kenny retired, they made their home in Idaho. After their divorce, she married Eddie Nelson and moved to Missouri.

Sue found great joy in the simple and creative things in life. She especially enjoyed quilting, and she cooked and sewed for the family.

Sue was a woman of strong faith and most recently attended Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Kenneth Pierce and Eddie Nelson; and her son, Robert Pierce.

Sue is survived by her steadfast companion, Bruce Boyer, who took care of her in her last days; her son by her first marriage, Richard W. Parker and his children, Aiden and Neysa; her three grandchildren by her son Robert: Hailey Pierce, Tristan Pierce, and Sydney Leone Pierce; her brother, Lee Watkins; and her two sisters, Faith Gershanoff and Ann Rubesky.

Arrangements for her cremation are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home, 101 W. Main Street, Warsaw. The family wishes to extended their appreciation to the hospice workers for their wonderful care they provided.

Sue will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the love she shared with her family and friends.
