The Warsaw R-IX Board of Education met on January 22nd to discuss a range of important updates and decisions affecting the school district. Below are the key highlights from the meeting.
The meeting began with student, staff, and community recognitions. The recipients included Charles Bilyeu– Student Spotlight; Casey Creekmore– Classified Staff Member of the Month; Bethany Siegel– Certified Staff Member of the Month; and G&W– Wildcat Pride Award recipient.
New business started with a review of the district’s December Revenue and Expenses, available online on the district website under the “About” section, by selecting “Board of Education” and then “Financials.”
Other new business included a review of the district’s Fund 4 budget and approval of the PROP KIDS drawings. The board certified the candidates for the April 2025 election which include; Lamonte Yoder, Charlotte Beck, and Marsha Bergman.
During the closed session, two retirements, two resignations, and two new hires were approved. The board also completed their self evaluations and the superintendent evaluation, extending Superintendent Mr. Gemes’ contract.

The next Warsaw R-IX Board Meeting is scheduled for February 19th at 6:00 p.m. in the HS/JBMS Library.
