Wilbur Dale Wright, age 90, of Lincoln, Missouri passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born on October 6, 1934 in Warsaw, Missouri the son of Oliver and Lennie (Claycomb) Wright. Wilbur attended Sunnyside country school through the eighth grade and then Warsaw High School where he graduated with the class of 1953. He began working at the Windsor Shoe Factory shortly after his high school graduation, which is where he would meet his future wife.
On June 2, 1956 in Clinton, Missouri, Wilbur was united in marriage to Frances Uhlenbock and they made their home in Windsor. Wilbur was drafted into the Army shortly after they were married and he and Frances traveled to Fort Gordon, Georgia where he was stationed until April of 1959. Upon returning to Missouri, they made their home in Lincoln, where they raised their family and lived until his passing. Wilbur began working with his father at Wright’s Machine Shop in 1960, taking over the business in 1979 when his father retired. In 1999, he sold his business to his sons and opened Wright’s Lawn Equipment where he worked until he was 90 years old and his health declined. Wilbur was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Lincoln where he attended for more than 50 years.
Wilbur is survived by three children, Steven Wright and his wife Delania of Lincoln, Stanley Wright and his wife Judy of Lincoln and Sheree Eckhoff of Lincoln; six grandchildren, Kelsey Sarabia (Christian), Katlyn Harris (William), Dalton Wright (Chelsey), Ryan Eckhoff (Adrian), Christina Eckhoff and Kyle Eckhoff; four great-grandchildren, Callum Wright, Brentley and Braelynn Harris, and Madalyn Eckhoff; sister Joann Robinson, brother-in-law Chick Acker, sister-in-law Karen Uhlenbock; one niece Tammie Brooks and one nephew Mike Robinson, several great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Frances, his sister Joyce Acker, his mother and father-in-law William and Pearl Uhlenbock, daughter-in-law Kathy Wright, son-in-law Darren Eckhoff, brother-in-law James Robinson, brother-in-law Bill Uhlenbock and nephew Randy Acker.
Visitation will be held at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Graveside Services and Military Rites will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 17, 2025 at the Lincoln Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons; Dalton, Ryan, Kyle, Christian and William.
