Wildcats Pounce Early, Win Big In Season Opener

Posted

All five starters got in the scoring column in the first half and the the defense created points in transition as the Wildcats took a 43-13 lead at halftime over Sweet Springs. Warsaw then cruised through the second half to win by the same margin with a 63-33 final in their home and season opener last Tuesday night.

A feisty Wildcats defense that created turnovers and then ultimately points on the other end proved to be a big difference in the win.
Warsaw led 57-25 after three frames.

Logan Gemes paced the Wildcats with 18 points while Luke Henderson came in closely behind with 17.

Warsaw will host the 92nd Annual Warsaw Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament this week. Their first contest will be on Tuesday night when they take on Lincoln at 6:00 PM.
