William G. "Bill" Bemis, age 88, of Clinton, Missouri, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Ridge Crest Nursing Center in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Bill was born on May 18, 1938, in Princeton Village, Minnesota, the son of Charles and Helen Bemis. He was raised in Milaca, Minnesota, where he spent his early years before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. During his military service, he was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Following his military service, Bill worked as an independent over-the-road truck driver. Owning and operating his own truck, he spent many years traveling the highways of Missouri and Kansas, earning a reputation for hard work, independence, and reliability.
Bill had a special love for dogs, particularly Dobermans. Throughout the years, he owned three beloved Dobermans, each named "Gypsy." His faithful companion accompanied him nearly everywhere he went and brought him great joy.
Known for his friendly nature and generous spirit, Bill was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He trusted people easily and believed in treating others with kindness and respect. His warm personality and willingness to help others will be remembered by all who knew him.
Bill spent the majority of his adult life in Central Missouri and built many lasting friendships throughout the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen Bemis, and one sister.
Survivors include his three sons, Chuck Bemis, Scoot Bemis, and Mike Bemis, and his daughter, Stacy Marsh, all of Minnesota.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, Missouri. Interment of his cremated remains will be held at the
Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri at a later date.
