Posted

William Lewis “Bill” Wiseman, 88, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born on July 16, 1936 to Oscar Perry and Mary May (Wallace) in Climax Springs, Missouri where he attended school and grew up on the family farm.
Bill worked for Yellow Freight from 1958 until his early retirement in 1988. Whether he was driving a truck or working on the dock he took great pride in his work. He raised his children with a strong work ethic.
He married Yolanda Overbaugh in 1956. Their union produced five children. They lived in Harrisonville Missouri where he returned to his love for farming. They were married until 1971. In 1980, Bill married Cathy Ewing and gained two step children. They moved to Warsaw, Missouri where they owned and operated “Cathy’s Nearly New.” He was an avid wood carver, carving everything from a 6” Santa to a 6’ Cigar Indian. He loved to fish, hosting many fish frys. When he wasn’t fishing, gardening or wood carving, he enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. In later years he and Cathy traveled the United States before settling in Holden, Missouri. He was an active member of the Elm Springs Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Fyrn, Juanita and Norma; his brothers Wesley and Chuck; and his daughters Cathy (stillborn) and Diana.
He is survived by his wife Cathy Wiseman; his children Debra Lawson and husband Gary, William Lewis Wiseman Jr. and wife Dawn, Robert Wiseman; his step children Steve Ewing and wife Beverly, and Marilyn Snyder and husband Steven; sixteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren; sister Shirley; brothers Kenny, Randy and Leroy; other relatives and many friends.
The family takes great comfort knowing Bill was saved and ready to go to heaven. He will be greatly missed, never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Deer Creek Fire Protection 30209 M Hwy Edwards, Missouri. All family and friends are welcome. A light lunch will be served.
