Della Jackson

Della Jackson, age 84, of Lincoln, Missouri, formally of Edwards, Missouri, passed peacefully on May 13, 2024 at the Lincoln Community Care Center in Lincoln, Missouri. She was born on January 3, 1940 in Stella, Missouri the daughter of Willie and Geneva Wilson.

She was united in marriage to James F. Jackson on August 31, 1956. They made their home in Kansas City where they were employed.

Della would work for Sears and Roebuck in 1956 for a few years. Jim and Della started their family in Independence, Missouri where they lived for over 30 years.
Della was baptized in Independence, Missouri at the Immanuel Baptist Church in 1972 where she was a member for over 20 years. Della was PTA room mother for approximately 13 years, PTA Vice President for one year at Benton Elementary School. She entered the Order of Eastern Star Adella Chapter #526 on February 13, 1969 and is currently a member of the East Gate Chapter #367, Buckner, Missouri Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of another enjoyable club called Red Hats Society in Climax Springs, Missouri.

Della was also employed by Kim McComas as a Wedding Consultant for 8 years and the Independence Neighborhood Councils for approximately 5 years. Jim and Della would move to the Lake of the Ozarks following their retirement in September 1990 where they lived their for 34 years with their membership to First Baptist Church in Climax Springs, Missouri where she taught Sunday School for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie A. and Geneva Wilson, her husband of 61 years, Jim Jackson, four brothers, Jimmie, Carl, Willy and Dearl Wilson.
She is survived by three children, James E. Jackson (Betty), Pamela Wrinkle (Byron) and Sharon Dean (Dirk), 4 grandchildren, James Cody Jackson (Kristen), Jennifer Okerstrom (Erik), Stephanie Polen (Adam), Brittanie Miller (Brandon), 8 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, 1 great great step-granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Della Jackson was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and sister in-law and will be missed but not forgotten. Della was an inspiration to all that met her.
A special thank you to all of her caregivers, she loved you like her own.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Reser Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Graveside services and interment will be at the Cable Ridge Cemetery in Edwards, Missouri.
