Below is a news release from my colleague, David Hoffman at Harrisonville, about an upcoming grazing conference in Warrensburg, MO.

The “Grazing 300 Days” Conference will be held in Warrensburg, MO on June 4, 2024 at the UCM Prussing Farm (454 E. Division Road). The workshop begins at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude at 2:00 p.m. The conference will assist producers and landowners on methods to extend their grazing season and reduce their reliance on harvested feeds.

Dr. Mary Drewnoski, University of Nebraska, will speak on “New Advancements in Grazing Research”. Dr. Jamie Courter, University of Missouri, will discuss “Matching Beef Cows to their Environment”. Bob Salmon, livestock producer from Appleton City, will discuss practical methods of extending the grazing season. In addition, there will be an opportunity to view the native warm season grass plots at UCM’s Mitchell Farm. If you are raising cattle or small ruminants, make plans to attend the conference to learn of new ways to advance your grazing management.

The conference is sponsored by University of Missouri Extension and University of Central Missouri Farms. Program fees are $25.00 per person. Lunch will be provided. Please register for the workshop by May 31, 2024 at the Cass County Extension Office: (816) 380-8460 or emailing at cassco@missouri.edu or the Pettis County Extension Office: (660) 827-0591 or pettisco@missouri.edu.
