Have I Got A Line For You!

Run for your lives! A headline I ran across this morning said, “The universe is doomed to collapse!” It didn’t say when though; tomorrow, maybe? You’re probably way ahead of me here, but I also read that O.J. Simpson died with only one person at his side, despite reports saying he was surrounded by family and friends. At least O.J. can be at peace knowing his wife’s killer is dead. I’ve always suspected that his son Jason was involved in the murders. Similar DNA, not so great relationship with his stepmom and he was at the house during the car chase. Remember when O.J. arrived home? Jason ran out and attempted to speak with his dad, but the police pulled him back. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was the one wearing the gloves.

President Biden said his Uncle Bosie was eaten by cannibals after his plane was shot down over Papua New Guinea during World War II. UNBELIEVABLE! Surprised he didn’t say that he’d been to New Guinea to search for his uncle and had BBQ with the Papuans. You’d think he’d be ashamed to traffic on the graves of soldiers who actually served this country instead of bragging about making a career of hanging out in Congress. You’d be wrong. He has no shame.

Let’s switch tempo here. One of the State Fair staffers stopped in the office yesterday. The fair opens in August and runs from the 10th to the 20th. Many of us have memories about trips there in years past. Some of us back to the time when the Midway was the main attraction. The Octopus was a favorite, but the whole place was exciting and fun. A bit further in life, some of the exhibits and the beer gardens became more interesting than the carnival rides. I especially enjoy watching the bakers and artists compete for a blue ribbon. Older people (when I was young) used to tell me how their family would go to the fair and stay for a number of days. They took along home canned goods and other food and ate where they camped in the big field at the fairgrounds. And they had a fine time. A trip to Sedalia long ago from southern Benton County was nothing to be taken lightly
